Easy & Healthy Breakfast Ideas for Fitness

Easy & Healthy Breakfast Ideas for Fitness

We've adapted some of the recipes from THE BOD and shared them with you here.

Why, you ask? Well breakfast is arguably the most important meal of the day - but more than that, its purpose is so important and we want to educate all our readers of the endless benefits. It's not only about being wholesome and clean. The food you prepare needs to taste good to ensure you can maintain clean eating as a lifestyle. That's why we value the taste of our recipes as much as the nutritional content. Breakfast can potentially make or break your day. If you eat a clean, wholesome and delicious breakfast - you're more likely to stick to the same structure for the rest of the day. Eating a poorly balanced breakfast, or worse, none at all - will have negative consequences that speak for themselves. Apart from providing us with important nutrients to begin the day, your breakfast will actually restore your glucose levels after a night of fasting. This essential carbohydrate helps your brain function. Breakfast will kickstart your metabolism as well as keep your energy levels up throughout the day. Moving on to what meals to eat at breakfast time.

Our breakfast ideas are taken directly from THE BOD; designed to nourish from the inside out and contribute to your fitness results.

  • Bircher Muesli Bircher muesli is easy to make, easy to switch up and easy to take on the go. You can prepare it in advance to save time for busy mornings. You can add in whatever seasonal fruit you like. Your bircher can be sweetened with natural sweeteners like honey, maple syrup and fruit. You can choose from a range of grains to make the base of your muesli like quinoa puffs, oats, quinoa flakes, bran, coconut flakes, nuts and pepita seeds.
  • Omelette You can maximise the nutritional content of this high protein breakfast option with whatever vegetables you like! Fresh herbs and spices can also add to the flavour of your next omelette. (Don't be afraid of egg yolks!)
  • Yoghurt, Granola and Fruit Natural yoghurt with fruit and granola is an optimally balanced start to anyone's day. The homemade granola recipe in THE BOD (or your own) is always the way to go and saves you having to worry about the unnecessary additives and sugars in store granola. Sprinkle super seeds and chia seeds onto your yoghurt for an additional kick of nutrition.
  • Almond Meal Pancakes These are a personal favourite of THE BOD coaches and our athletes! Our healthy take on pancakes will set you up for the day and provide you with some much needed energy after fasting in your sleep. We love topping ours with fresh fruit, refined sugar-free jam and yoghurt. Almond Meal Pancakes
